What are GOBs made of?

GOBs are made from 100% mycelium, the root-like network of fungi that grows naturally beneath the soil. It’s a renewable biomaterial that’s non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and completely natural. 

Why not foam earplugs?

Most single-use earplugs are made from plastic foams like polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). These fossil-fuel plastics, or “forever chemicals”, contaminate drinking water, food, and soil, build up in human bodies causing serious health risks, just like other single-use plastics.

Instead, GOBs are grown from a natural material that breaks down and returns nutrients back to the earth.

How do GOBs fit?

GOBs softly shape to your ear, creating a comfortable seal without pressure.

Unlike traditional foam earplugs that expand in the ear canal, the natural mycelium structure gently molds to your anatomy. The result is a secure fit that feels natural and unobtrusive.

Because the material doesn’t rebound like foam, GOBs are designed for single use.

How do you put them in?

Place the GOB at the opening of your ear canal and gently press it into place, we tend to use our thumb or pointer finger. It’s that simple, no need to squish or squeeze beforehand. 

They're designed to sit comfortably in the outer ear — never force them in.

Are they safe?

Yes. GOBs are designed to sit only in the outer part of your ear canal, so they cannot reach your eardrum.

If one feels snug, gently twist and remove it at the same angle you inserted it.

By the way, GOBs are non toxic, so it won't cause harm if accidentally ingested. 

What kind of protection do GOBs offer?

GOBs provide up to 20 dB of noise reduction — softening sound without completely blocking it out.

The natural structure dampens sound evenly across frequencies, so things stay clear — just quieter.

What happens after you’re done?

When you’re finished, GOBs go back to the earth.

Can I change or pause my subscription?

Absolutely.

When will I be billed?

You’ll be billed every 30 days based on the date of your first order.

Do subscribers get a discount?

Yes! All subscribers receive 10% off every recurring order!

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your account dashboard or by contacting hello@gob.earth.
Your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. Any pending or already-processed orders will still be shipped.

What is your refund policy for subscription orders?

Subscription orders follow our standard return policy.

• If an item is unopened and in its original condition, you may request a return within 30 days of delivery.
• Refunds are issued to your original payment method.
• Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the issue was our error.

Can I reactivate a cancelled subscription?

Will I be notified of price changes?

Yes. If subscription pricing changes, you’ll receive an email notification at least 14 days in advance. You may make any changes to your subscription before the update takes effect.
