GOB

What are GOBs made of?

GOBs are made from 100% mycelium (pronounced mae-see-lee-uhm). Mycelium is the root-like network of fungi that grows naturally in soil and other places in nature. It’s completely natural, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and even technically edible (though it tastes pretty gross!). If you accidentally swallow one, don’t worry — it won’t harm you.

Why not foam earplugs?

Most single-use earplugs are made from foam, like polyurethane (PU) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). These are plastic materials made from fossil fuels. They don’t break down easily, which means they can stick around in the environment for a very long time — just like other single-use plastics.

How do GOBs fit?

GOBs mold to your ear like memory foam — but better. Instead of expanding and pushing themselves out like regular earplugs, they gently shape to your unique ear canal. That means a snug fit with no uncomfortable pressure. Once you take them out, they don’t bounce back like foam plugs, which is why they’re designed for a single use.

What happens after you’re done?

Unlike foam earplugs that stick around forever, GOBs go back to the earth. Made from 100% mycelium and USDA Certified Bio-based, they break down into nutrients that feed the soil. No microplastics. No toxic leftovers. Just nature doing what it does best — regenerating itself.

How do you put them in?

1. Hold the GOB and gently place it at the opening of your ear canal (it doesn’t go deep).

2. Use your thumb to press it into place against your outer ear.

3. Push in until it feels secure — but never force it.

4. You’re good to go: sleep, party, study, focus, or just enjoy the quiet.

Are they safe?

Yes! GOBs are designed to sit only in the outer part of your ear canal — they can’t reach your eardrum. As a rule of thumb: if your fingers can put it in, your fingers can take it out. If one ever feels snug, gently twist and ease it out at the same angle you inserted it. And if you have trouble, ask a friend for help or seek medical attention.

What kind of protection do GOBs offer?

GOBs provide up to 20 dB of protection — that’s about the difference between normal conversation and a whisper. Their natural mycelium foam dampens sound evenly across all frequencies, so everything stays clear, just quieter. Unlike traditional foam earplugs that can muffle certain tones, GOBs reduce noise while keeping the balance and comfort intact.

Can I change or pause my subscription?

When will I be billed?

You’ll be billed every 30 days based on the date of your first order.

Do subscribers get a discount?

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your account dashboard or by contacting hello@gob.earth.
Your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. Any pending or already-processed orders will still be shipped.

What is your refund policy for subscription orders?

Subscription orders follow our standard return policy.

• If an item is unopened and in its original condition, you may request a return within 30 days of delivery.
• Refunds are issued to your original payment method.
• Shipping fees are non-refundable unless the issue was our error.

Can I reactivate a cancelled subscription?

Will I be notified of price changes?
